| im in laguna nigel right now in the st. regis spa and resort with my family...its not even ranked in stars, its a "diamond" hotel. its so nice here, im lucky to have a rich brother who invites me to his luxurious business trips. i was actually here last year for the same conference a couple days before graduation. my life was so different back then, i was so different. for one i was a lot skinnier and had beautiful long hair, but that doesn't really matter. i was having the time of my life with really no worries and a new special someone. looking back, the events that have happened have relaly changed me...mainly through college and people i've met and things i've done. some major events that stood out since last year: Hopi for sure, faced some really hard times on the missions field with team members, kids, and culture; moving to SB and learning to become a college person...managing time which i dont think i've really learned completely until this quarter; meeting all sorts of people has really broadened my view of the world in a negative way...im not as trusting, i tend to judge people harsher and am more selective of my friends-i dunno if this is self-defense or fear of being hurt which i guess is the same thing; learning to listen and not talk so much about myself so i can absorb more information around me e.i. hearing lectures, sections, messages, sermons, advice, listen to other's speak --> take time to think before speaking, being smarter about situations so i don't screw them up, being respectful of my friend's opinions and suggustions instead of doing and getting what i want. I think im a lot more rational..more theoretical and logical than spontaneous and random. i've let all the things in life get to me and effect and change me because im tired of fighting. just come as you are. | | |

| moving into a tiny room, unpacking and decorating my new home, instant connection with roommate, awkward introductions of many other lost freshmen, early morning group runs to the pier, boring orientation procedures, Isla Vista adventures to Freebirds and Blenders, late nights just hanging out the night before classes started, learning how to longboard and falling several times badly scraping my legs, grovel board and 2400's "lock it up," esacping stupid meetings by taking (3 min) walks to the beach, joining Urban hip-hop dance team, meeting my long lost twin brother Edward, my birthday suprise of gifts and bonfires from my hallmates, Circle of Life fellowship (crazy chinese people!), late Jack in the Box/In n' Out/Denny's runs, longboarding down parking structures with insane vietnamese boy Vince, microwaved mac n' cheese everyday after PoliSci with Yadi because there's never time for breakfast or lunch, falling asleep on the beach trying to study and getting terrible sunburns, dressing up and taking the bus to downtown just to eat at Chipotle's, library 8th floor=AMAZING campus and ocean view, Steph Eng, kelly, bob, kevin coming to visit <3, watching stupid drunk people being really loud in the halls then getting written up, protecting girls from "CREEPERS," visiting home on weekends and eating real food, long dance practices perfecting routines (but we're so in sync, its ridiculous), rating the cute RAs and trying to figure out which ones are gay, eating junk food from the vending machines every night, 3 all-nighters writing papers/projects, waking up to linsday playing Mika's "Love Today" 10 minutes before my first class, having dinner with professors, insightful discussions that really made me think in and out of classes, eating again and again at the same dining hall, standing up for myself in difficult situations that challenged my beliefs and views, lunar esclipse and meteor shower at 3:30 am on campus point with 50 other people, procrastinating by playing video games (Wii) and watching movies, ravidly studying for finals and aceing them, packing all my stuff up and not wanting to leave my roommate, moving into my Manzanita Village room (so much bigger), driving home and watching the fog swirling over the freeway thinking of all the things that happend in the past 6 weeks...welcome to college, eh? found this on my door, i love my floor!

SB is beautiful and the people aren't half bad. ive actually made some really cool and chill friends who are fun to be around and really smart. I miss home, but there's so much to do that there's not much time to think about it. I'm really excited for this summer quarter. Taking 10 units in comp lit, poli sci IR and semiars, so I'll be busyy. Although I'd love visitors to bring a little bit of home here. More to come later, super tired-been staying up late (so much freedom) talking and hanging out with floormates :) | | |
| hey guess what. I'M OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL :) june 14-yes, graduation was grand...after sitting and waiting for the 700-so senior names to be called. everyone had to have their 5 seconds of fame, and for me it was a very happy moment :) i just remember hearing my name, walking up to Mr. Valdez and shaking his hand, receiving my dipolma (jacket), smiling really big for the camera, and walking off the stage doing a big happy jump! i didn't pay attention to how loud people screamed for me; it didn't matter--i still felt accomplished and extremely special. and thanks for all of your who came afterwards for pictures! you guys are the best.
My siblings came a couple days before graduation to hang out :)
Thanks for the flowers! I love you kelpig and m&m
Best friends ever
